Kenneth J. Boswell
Kenneth J. Boswell is a native of Georgia who grew up in the Covington community. He is the oldest of seven children to the late Homer and Hattie Boswell. He attended the local area public schools and is a graduate of Newton County High School.
Pastor Boswell proudly served 3 years in the U.S. Army where he received an honorable discharge and where he first heard about the Advent message through the “It is Written” television program as well as bible studies sent to him by his mother.
After returning home he attended an evangelistic meeting conducted by his mentor and former President of the South Atlantic Conference, Elder V. J. Mendenhall and was baptized into the Adventist faith in 1978. He served faithfully in the First Covington SDA Church and First Lithonia SDA Church in various offices and leadership positions where he first began to realize God’s call to pastoral ministry.
Pastor Boswell attended DeKalb Community College and Georgia State University. He continued his educational pursuits by attending Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas where he graduated with BS degree in Psychology and Religion. Then he matriculated to Southern Adventist University and completed his Masters of Religion.
Following years of preparation, In November 1999, Elder Boswell accepted the call to ministry by the South Atlantic Conference to pastor the Ephesus SDA Church in Gastonia NC and the New Life SDA Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina district. In September 2003, he was reassigned to the New Hope SDA Church in Ellenwood, GA. During camp
meeting 2004, Pastor Boswell was ordained as a minister of the Gospel.
He has since pastored the following churches:
- Emmanuel SDA Church Lithonia Georgia
- East Market SDA Church Greensboro NC
- Bethany SDA Church Macon Georgia
Since January 2022, he has served as the pastor the Mt. Olive SDA Church in East Point Ga. Elder Boswell has conducted evangelistic meetings in every church district he has pastored and has been powerfully used by The Lord to win many souls into the Kingdom of God.
Pastor Boswell has been married to the former Patricia Cullins, also of Covington Ga. for 43 years. They have two adult daughters, Tiffany, who lives McDonough Ga, and their younger daughter Lauren, who now sleeps in Jesus, waiting on the resurrection morning.
Pastor Boswell believes his life is a “living testimony” of the power of God to use ordinary people in extraordinary ways when they truly devote themselves to Him and His mission.
